OBITUARIES

CHRISTINE B. PELKIE
DEXTER, Christine B. Pelkie, 83, died August 3, 2005, at a Dexter health care facility, following a long illness. She was born February 28, 1922, in Harmony, the daughter of Merton and Inez (Flagg) Braley. She worked in Connecticut for several years, later returning to the Dexter area, where she worked for several local businesses. She was a member of the Rebekahs, and will best be remembered for her love of children and family gatherings. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles A. Pelkie, an infant son, Allen, a daughter, Bertha Fanjoy, and a sister, Charlene Dube.

She is survived by a son-in-law, Roger Fanjoy Sr. of Dexter; 4 grandchildren, Michael and his wife Brenda Fanjoy of Michigan, Roger Fanjoy Jr. of Corinna, Terri Walker of Appleton, Rob Fanjoy and his fiancé, Holly Weymouth of Michigan; 4 great grandchildren, Matthew Fanjoy, Ami Gongalski and Sean and Ryan Walker; a great great grandson, Kevin Gongalski, 2 brothers-in-law, Lucien Dube of Dexter, and Wardie Pelkie of Hartland; a nephew, Ted Dube; nieces, Barbara McKenney, Betty LaFerriere, and Karen Sleight.

Friends may call Sunday, August 7, 2005 from 4 to 6 PM at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main St. in Dexter. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 8th, with Pastor Lois Field officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Canaan.
