CLYDE H. THOMAS He served in the US Army in the Philippines during WWII. After the war, Clyde started a trucking business which grew into a large logging contracting business. Over the years he bought many tracts of land, supplying the local mills with wood, as well as providing many jobs. Following Clyde's retirement in 1984, his family has continued to operate the business that he started. He enjoyed the outdoors, and two of his real passions in life were fishing and hunting. He is survived by his companion, Sally Cowette of Guilford; 3 sons and their wives, Gerald and Carol Thomas, and Richard and Roberta Thomas, all of Guilford, Kenneth and Wanda Thomas of Farmington; a daughter and her husband, Rosemarie and Stanley Folsom of Sangerville; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Carolyn (Pray) Thomas and a son, Russell Thomas. Friends may call from 6 to 8 PM, Tuesday, October 12, 2010, at Crosby & Neal, 21 Oak Street in Guilford. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Wednesday, at the funeral home, with Pastor Stephen Dean officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawn Cemetery in Guilford.
