CORA (DARLING) PELKEY
OLD TOWN & VEAZIE Cora (Darling) Pelkey, 89, died December 14, 2001 at a Bangor hospital. She was born May 23, 1912 in Patten, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Beatrice (Sibley) Darling. She moved to Old Town in 1923 and graduated from Old Town High School, Class of 1930. She was employed for many years by Penobscot Shoe and Old Town Shoe shops. In 1956, she was employed by the Bangor and Aroostook Railroad in Bangor, retiring in 1984. She was a member of the Order of The Eastern Star. She was predeceased by her only daughter, Patricia (Pelkey) Eaton, in 1998.

She is survived by her son-in-law, Kenneth C. Eaton of Corinna and Florida; 2 grandchildren, DeAnna Eaton of Dexter, and Susan Eaton of San Diego, CA; along with 3 special nieces who made her life easier, and many other nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held 11 A.M. Tuesday, December 18th, at Morses Corner Cemetery, Corinna, with Pastor Stan Griffin of Cornerstone Baptist Church, Exeter, officiating. Following the service, a gathering and time of refreshments will be held at Carl and Loraine Palmer's residence, 1116 Stetson Road, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cora's memory to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Chapel, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna, Tel. 278-2262.
