CYNTHIA MORGAN (LAW) BURGESS
GUILFORD - Cynthia Morgan (Law) Burgess, 72, passed away June 15, 2001 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Dover-Foxcroft, July 13, 1928, daughter of Fred and Florence (Pierce) Law. She attended Dover schools and graduated in 1946. She was predeceased by her best friend and soul mate, Irwin C. Burgess, whom she married in 1950. She drove a school bus for over 40 years. Many children rode her bus from their very first day of school all the way through to graduation. Cynthia was also an avid outdoorsman and snowmobiler. Her retirement years were spent peacefully and contentedly on her beloved hilltop in Guilford Center, tending the lawns and gardens that she loved so much. One of her favorite pastimes was watching her bluebirds return each spring and raise their families.

Cynthia is survived by her three children; two sons, Joel Burgess and his fiancé Christine White of Dover-Foxcroft, and Jason Burgess of Guilford; a daughter, who was also her best friend, Rhobe Moulton and her husband Timothy of Wales, Maine; three sisters, Annette Farrar of Pittsfield, Priscilla Cleaves of Ossineke, Michigan, and JoAnn Cole of Bangor; a brother and his wife Stephen J. and Elaine Law of Dover-Foxcroft; a sister-in-law, Avis Edes and her husband Edwin of Guilford; a brother-in-law, Glen Burgess of Dover-Foxcroft; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Martha Hamilton. Cynthia will be greatly missed by many good friends, not the least of which are the special friends and classmates who gave freely of their time and moral support throughout her illness.

In honoring her wishes, there will be no public funeral services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North American Bluebird Society, P.O.
