DANIEL "SHORTY" HUMPHREY
GUILFORD: Daniel "Shorty" Humphrey, 63, born April 7, 1943, died July 1, 2006 at Mayo Regional Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft after a long illness. Daniel was a long time resident of Guilford for over 25 years, known to everyone as "Shorty". He worked at Guilford of Maine for many years and then opened "Shorty's Taxi".

Daniel is survived by five children, J.J. Humphrey of Guilford, Angel Mintah of Greenbush, Rita Akerson of Dexter, Wayne Curtis of Detroit and Patrisha Soucier of Old Town. Daniel has one sister, Brenda Sloweski of Fair Oaks, California, one half sister, Maryann Smart of Lincoln and three brothers, Jimmy Humphrey of North Carolina, Michael Humphrey and Paul Humphrey of California. Daniel has nine grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time at Dave Berry's Garage in Dexter. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him.

At his request there will be no funeral services. There will be a gathering in his honor at Crosby Park in Dexter on July 16, at noon. Refreshments will be served. In lieu of flowers, cards or calls, contact Rita Akerson at 924-5685.
