DENNIS L. CARR
Dennis Carr CORINNA - Dennis Lawrence Carr, 71, devoted husband of Joyce Hemenway Carr, died Oct. 30, 2006, at his home, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born Jan. 9, 1935, at Dexter, a son of Maurice and Jessie (Page) Carr. Dennis graduated from Dexter High School in 1953. He was employed at Snowflake Canning Co., Corinna, the Western Auto Store, Dexter, R.B. Dunning Co., Bangor and S.D. Warren, Hinckley, where he retired in 1992. Dennis was a member of the Corinna United Methodist Church and the Corinna Housing Association, where he remained very active. After his retirement, he enjoyed spending winters in Zephyrhills, Fla., until he sold his home due to ill health.

In addition to his wife of Corinna, he is survived by one son, Dennis M. Carr and wife, Mindy, of Lee; three daughters, Nannette Donnell and fiance, Sam DeBoe, of Carmel, Cynthia Blodgett and husband, Chris, of Waterville, Lori Langley and husband, Gorden, of Corinna; a brother, Clayton Carr and wife, Marian, of Dexter; two sisters, Helen LaCasse of Tavares, Fla., and Charlene Breton and husband, Mike, of Dexter; eight grandchildren, Amy Luce and fiance, Joey Oxley, of Levant, Jennifer Cloutier and husband, Armand, of Newport, Kenneth Luce and wife, Rachel, of Chesapeake, Va., Sarah Olmsted and fiance, Ryan Ward, of Newburgh, Chris Carr and wife, Sarah, of Brewer, Scott Olmsted of Newport, R.I., Corey Harvey and Jason Langley, both of Corinna; three great-grandchildren, Gavin and Braden Carr of Brewer and Carrson Cloutier of Newport. He was predeceased by his parents; a daughter, Lynn; three brothers, Albert, Lewis and Merle; and a great-grandson, Spencer Luce Seeback.

Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, at the Crosby & Neal Chapel, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna. After a family graveside service, burial will be Friday at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. A public memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, at the Corinna United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sharon Lovejoy officiating. After the memorial service, a luncheon will be served in the annex of the church, celebrating the life of Dennis, who is now one of God's angels. In lieu of flowers, Dennis requested memorial donations be made to the Corinna United Methodist Church Board of Trustees, care of Bill Condon, P.O. Box 418, Corinna, ME 04928.
