DON W. "DJ" RICHARDS II
DETROIT: Don W. “DJ” Richards II 17 died as a result of a swimming accident June 13, 2006 at a Bangor hospital with his family and friends beside him. He was born in Belfast July 1, 1988 the son of Shani (Pert) Colby and Don W. Richards I. He attended Pittsfield schools. “DJ” was the Program Leader at his carpentry class at the Skowhegan Vocational School. He graduated May 25, 2006 from Skowhegan vocational School and June 4,2006 from Maine Central Institute in Pittsfield. “DJ” worked at the family sawmill and liked to work on the farm of a family friend. He enjoyed building “everything” and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his mother and father Don and Shani of Detroit, paternal grandparents Edgar and Paulette Pert of Searsmont, paternal great grandmother Glenys Monteith of Belfast, one brother Joshua Colby of Waterville, three sisters, Tiffany Richards of Detroit, Jessica Walker of Pittsfield, Jennifer Roberts of Franklin NC., 2 uncles Eric Pert, Clifford Elwell Sr., aunt Dorothy Elwell, four nieces, three nephews and several cousins. “DJ” will also be remembered by his girl friend Brandi Condon, and his best friends Rob, John, and Ray.

Memorial services will be conducted 1PM Friday June 16, 2006 at Parks Gymnasium Maine Central Institute Pittsfield, with Pastor Al Worden officiating. In lieu flowers friends and family who wish may make memorial donations to “DJ’s” family P.O. Box 454 Pittsfield, Maine 04967 to help them defray some of the expenses, or to a Scholarship Fund to be established at MCI in care of MCI Institutional Advancement Office 125 South Main St Pittsfield, Me. 04967.
