OBITUARIES

DORAN E. GRANT
SANGERVILLE - Doran E. Grant, 74, a 45 year resident of Sangerville, pas-sed away Sept. 28, 2002, in Punta Gorda, Fla. He was born Oct. 14, 1927, in Dexter, to the late Aylmer and Ethel (Silver) Grant. Doran served his country in the Army and served as an honor guard member for General MacArthur while stationed in Tokyo. He was a graduate of the University of Connecticut. Doran worked as a sheet metal worker for various companies in Connecticut and Maine before retiring. He was a life member of the Grange, and was a member of Congregational Church in Dover-Foxcroft. Doran enjoyed hiking, camping, and being outdoors; he was a lumberjack and also enjoyed basketball. He will be remembered for the way he loved his family and spent time with his grandchildren.

Doran will be greatly missed by his wife of 45 years, Laura; daughters, Diane (Brent) Sedgwick of Florida, and Deborah (Dennis) Campbell of New Hampshire; sons, Lawrence (Loretta) Grant of Vermont, Alan (Teri) Grant of California, and Richard (Wendy) Grant of Washington, D.C.; sister, Rebecca Johnson of Garland; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, Clarence Grant; and his sister, Louise Latham.

Services in celebration of Mr. Grant's life will be held at 3 p.m. Oct. 19, 2002, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Dexter. Arrangements are by Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services, Punta Gorda, Fla.
