DOREEN (TUCKER) GERRY
DETROIT - Doreen Elva (Tucker) Gerry passed away peacefully June 8, 2009 at the Tuscany House in Summerfield, Florida. She was born June 17, 1932 in Webster Plantation, where she grew up. She then moved to Detroit in 1949 where she and her husband made their home and raised their family. In 1992 Doreen relocated to Belleview, FL where she spent the rest of her retirement years. She was an avid reader, cook, card player, and loved to crochet. Doreen was predeceased by her husband Lawrence Gerry who died in 1992.

She is survived by two sisters, Mina Lane of FL., Josephine and husband Kenneth Buker of ME., half brother Roy Tucker of LA, half sister Mary Runnion of CA., six children, Larry Gerry Sr., Irene and husband Paul Savage, Linda and husband John Plungey, Henry and wife Nina Gerry, Rose and husband Thomas Gaedtke, Joseph and wife Melody Gerry; 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was deeply loved by all and will be greatly missed.

Graveside services will be held 11 A.M. Saturday, June 27th at the Detroit Village Cemetery, with a reception to follow at the Detroit Town Hall. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport. Those who wish may sign an online guest register and leave written tributes at www.CrosbyNeal.com.
