Dorne Harold Smith
NEWPORT – Dorne Harold Smith, 58, died January 9, 2014 at the Togus V.A. hospital. He was born April 15, 1955 in Dexter, a son of Sidney and Maude (Tardy) Smith. He served in the U. S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. Dorne worked at Guilford Industries in Newport. He was a member of Barrows-Skidgel Post American Legion.

He will be remembered as an animal lover, always feeding the birds and squirrels.

He is survived by his mother, Maude Smith, and his wife, Charlene Forrest, both of Newport; a step-son, Kennie and wife Debbie Thompson of Massachusetts; 2 step daughters, Desiree Clark of North Carolina and Donna and husband Bill Keenan of Sullivan; a brother, David Smith of Alabama; 3 nieces, uncles, aunts and cousins.
