DOROTHY (WHITE) CONANT RICE
STETSON & VEAZIE - Dorothy (White) Conant Rice, 90, died May 24, 2005 at a Dexter health care facility. She was born October 13, 1914 at Sherman a daughter of Miles and Ida (Landers) White. Together with her husband, Donald, she owned and operated Sweeney’s Restaurant in Veazie for many years, retiring to Stetson in 1977.

She is survived by 2 step-sons, Edward Rice of Townsend, MA and Carlton Rice of Hudson, NH; 4 step-daughters, Susan Young of Westbrook, Byrl Hunter of Tyngsboro, MA, Thurlo Dow of Pepperell, MA and Edith Tarr of Lakeland, FL; 2 brothers, Harold White of Bangor and Orie White of Cambridge; a nephew, Steven and wife Donna White and a great nephew, Dakota White, all of Dexter. She was predeceased by her first husband Vernum Conant in 1959 and her second husband, Donald Rice in 1999.

Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Tuesday, May 31st at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport with Pastor Al H. Worden officiating. Friends may call from 12 noon until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hermon.
