DOROTHY (GRAY) STEWART
NORTH NEWPORT – Dorothy “Gin” Stewart, 78, died May 30, 2007 at a Pittsfield health care facility after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born August 7, 1928 at Pittsfield a daughter of Norman and Elizabeth (Knowlton) Gray. Dot was a past member of the Plymouth Grange and had worked at Church Goods and General Signal, retiring from Northeast Shoe (now SAS) in 1980. She also taught Sunday school at the Detroit Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Alvin; as well as 2 daughters, Linda and husband John Dean of Greenbush, Elizabeth and husband Bruce Patten of St. Albans; and a brother Ralph and wife Charlotte Gray of Plymouth; 4 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson.

Private family visitation will be held Wednesday, June 6th, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport. Public graveside funeral and committal services will be held 1 PM Wednesday, at Sawyer Cemetery, Plymouth, with the Rev. George Finnemore officiating. A celebration of her life will be held following the service at Barrows-Skidgel American Legion Hall in Newport. A graveside funeral and committal service for Dorothy Stewart will be held 1 PM Wednesday at Sawyer Cemetery, Plymouth, with the Rev. George Finnemore officiating. Family visitation will be held in the morning at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport. A celebration of her life will also be held following the service at Barrows-Skidgel American Legion Hall in Newport.
