OBITUARIES

DOROTHY J. LAGASSE
DEXTER- Dorothy J. Lagasse, 89, died July 5, 2010 at a Portland hospital. She was born June 16, 1921, in Brewer, daughter of Horace and Hazel (Carr) Bennett. She was a communicant of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Dexter and was a member of the Daughters of Isabella. She and her husband "Pete" owned and operated LAGASSE'S IGA in Dexter for many years. In her later life she became a placement advisor with Penquis CAP.

She was predeceased by her husband Rodolph J. "Pete" Lagasse in 1992; 2 brothers, Raymond C. Bennett and Donald J. Bennett; 2 sisters, Evelyn M. Lewis, and Marjorie H. Baker.

She is survived by two sons, G. Peter Lagasse of Dexter and Robert M. LaGasse of Derry, NH; a daughter, Bonitta Lagasse of Windham; a sister, Shirley Kilian of Dudley, MA; ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated 10 AM, Monday, July 12, 2010, at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Dexter with Deacon Frederick Harrigan officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Old Town.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Shriner's Children's Hospital, c/o Anah Temple Shrine, P.O. Box 735, Bangor, ME 04402.
