DOROTHY (STACKPOLE) MCALLISTER
NEWPORT Dorothy P. McAllister, 95, died March 1, 2001 at a Pittsfield hospital following a brief illness. She was born March 11, 1905 at Palmyra the daughter of Delbert and Myrtle (Foster) Stackpole. She graduated from Newport High School, Class of 1924, and graduated from Gorham Normal School. She taught school in Lovell, where she met and married Theodore McAllister. He predeceased her in 1968. She was also predeceased by a son Carlton McAllister in 1963, and a brother, Donald Stackpole in 1984. She was a member of the Newport Senior Extension and Newport Senior Citizens. Dot enjoyed her friends, and her flower gardens, and will be remembered for a great sense of humor.

She is survived by her son Dale and his wife Hattie McAllister of Grosse Isle, Michigan and Newport; a daughter Ruth and husband Harold Condon of Carmel; a brother, Foster Stackpole of Newport; 5 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. She is also survived by a number of special friends, among them, her dear neighbors,Harlan and Rita Braley.

Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Monday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport, where funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Tuesday , March 6th , with Pastor Al Worden officiating. A reception and luncheon will follow the funeral services at Dinsmore Hall, High Street Congregational Church, Newport. Spring burial will be in the family lot, Pittsfield Village Cemetery.
