Douglas Frank Nelson
MONSON- Douglas Frank Nelson, 62, passed away suddenly at his home in Monson on November 29, 2013. He was born in Dover-Foxcroft on April 16, 1951, the son of Frank and Mary (Greenleaf) Nelson.

He graduated in 1969, Valedictorian of the last graduating class at Monson Academy and from the University of Maine with a degree in Engineering. He retired from GE in 2003 and moved back to Monson that same year. He was a member and past officer of Columbia-Doric Masonic Lodge #149, Greenville and many of it's affiliates, and the Order of the Eastern Star, Almeda Chapter #149, Dover-Foxcroft. From June 2005 until March 2012 he served on the board of Selectman for the town of Monson.

He was predeceased by his parents, and his brother, David.

He is survived by his sister and her husband, Deborah and Foster Ward of Monson; his sister-in-law, Diana Nelson of Greenville; his nieces and nephews, Mari-Ellyn Ward of Brewer, Frank Ward and his wife, Crystal of Greenville, Jennifer Ward and her husband, David Dante of Flat Rock, NC, Robert Nelson and his wife, Linda of Janesville, WI, Monica Jasinski and her fiancé, Todd Tedeschi of Richfield, WI; several great-nieces and nephews; aunts; cousins; and special friends, Reggie & Cindy Page of Abbot.
