OBITUARIES

EDWARD W. CARR
DEXTER, Edward W. Carr, 79, died July 20, 2006, at his home in N. Dexter. He was born July 30, 1926, in Five Islands, Maine, son of Fred and Orissa (Davis) Carr. Ed served in the US Navy in the South Pacific during WWII, and received several service medals. He was a member of the VFW Post 4298 in Dexter, and the Stott-Flanders Post #165 of the American Legion in Sangerville. For many years he worked as a woodsman in the local area.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marguerite (Elderkin) Carr of Dexter; a son, Rod Carr and his wife, Sharon of Lincoln; 2 grandsons, James Carr and his wife, Mary, and Christopher Carr and his wife, Michelle and their children, Mikayla and Christa, all of Pittsfield; several nieces and nephews; a special friend, Richard Elderkin and his wife, Winnie of Parkman. One of 13 children, Ed is survived by 3 brothers and a sister, Harry, Charles, Albion, and Marion.

Friends may call Monday, July 24, 2006, from 9 to 11 AM, at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 21 Oak St. in Guilford, with graveside services following at 11:00 AM at the Pingree Center Cemetery in Parkman, with Kevin Stevens officiating.
