EFFIE ABBOT (HAMLIN) BEST
GREENVILLE- Effie Abbot (Hamlin) Best, 92, passed away July 13, 2008 at C.A. Dean Hospital in Greenville. She was born September 5, 1915 in Kingsbury, the daughter of Guy and Clara (Davis) Hamlin. Effie was a woods cook and helped run Kings Service Station for many years. She was an avid hunter and fisherman, and was a great cook. She was predeceased by her first husband, Ralph King, her second husband, Henry Best, and a daughter, Cecile.

She is survived by a daughter, Delores Harris and her husband, Robert; a son, Pastor Gary Caron and his wife, Barbara; grandchildren, Robert and his wife, Sandra, Joseph and his friend, Sarah, Jan, Jon, Steven, James, and their wives and husband; 11 great grandchildren, including Leslie and Dakota Harris; and 5 great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

A graveside committal service will be held 11:30 AM, Friday, July 18, 2008 at the Greenville Cemetery with Pastor Ron Reamer of the Church of the Open Bible officiating. Family and friends will meet back at Effie’s house for refreshments and sharing memories. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made in Effie’s name to: C.A. Dean Memorial Hospital, P.O.
