ELEANOR (HART) NORMANDO
NEWPORT – Eleanor (Hart) Normando, 74, died unexpectedly November 7, 2006 at a Pittsfield hospital. She was born January 27, 1932 in St. Albans a daughter of Ernest and Martha (Rice) Hart. She was employed for many years as a school crossing guard and school hot lunch program aide for the Newport schools. Eleanor will be remembered for her arts and crafts; and giving her gifts to the USVA Center in Togus, local churches and the waitresses at Irvings Big Stop Restaurant in Newport. She had also been an avid bowler at the old candle pin bowling lanes in Newport. She will also be remembered for her extensive decorating of her home, inside and out, for every holiday each year. She loved having guests in to see her home festively decorated throughout the first floor.

Eleanor is survived by 2 daughters, Nancy and husband Gary Ricker, and Evelyn “Pip” Normando, all of Newport; 1 brother Elbert Hart of Pittsfield; 2 sisters, Lillian Braley of Hartland, Ruth Sylvester and husband Alden of Mars Hill; 1 grand-daughter, Shannon Poulin and husband Paul of Monmouth; and a great grand-daughter, Rhayna Michelle Poulin; many nieces and nephews; and her adopted family, Barry, Linnea and Joseph Walker of Detroit. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Normando on March 19, 2002; a grand-daughter, Michelle Blossom; as well as brothers and sisters: Norman, Evelyn, Hope, Gladys, Carroll, Mary, Paul, Harold, and Kathleen.

Friends may call from 7-9 P.M. Monday at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport. Graveside committal services will be held 11 A.M. Tuesday, November 14th, at the family lot, Riverside Cemetery, Newport, with Pastor Al H. Worden officiating.
