Elery W. Pomeroy
NEWPORT—Elery W. Pomeroy, 66, died October 11, 2013 at a Bangor hospital. He was born February 16, 1947 in Waterville, a son of Clarence and Beverly (Gerry) Pomeroy. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Elery was an avid motorcycle rider in his younger days. He had been employed at San Antonio Shoe in Pittsfield.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Cookson) Pomeroy; 2 sons, Andrew and wife Carol Pomeroy, all of Newport, and Wayne Pomeroy of Detroit; a daughter, Gina Marie and husband Ralph “Camper” Phillips of Pittsfield; a brother, Mike and wife Linda Pomeroy of NC; a sister, Cathy and husband Herb Williams of Augusta; 6 grandchildren; and one great grandson.

A memorial service will be held 10 A.M. Friday, October 18th at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport, with Pastor Jacky Willhoite officiating. Burial will follow at the Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Augusta.
