ELIZABETH "BETTY" STONE
SANGERVILLE - Elizabeth "Betty" J. Stone, 98, went to be with the Lord March 13, 2007 at a Dexter health care facility. She was born June 15, 1908 in Boston, MA, a daughter of James and Ethel Snowden, and was raised in Harmony. She spent a few years in Milo before her marriage to Harold Stone on Oct 15, 1930. They made their home in Sangerville and Whitman, MA, before moving to Guilford. They established Stone's Dairy where they pasteurized and delivered milk for several years. After selling the business, she worked and retired from Hardwood Products Co. Betty was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Dover-Foxcroft.

She is survived by her beloved daughter Sandra Hughes; her beloved grandchildren, Eileen and husband James, Scott and wife Karen, Brenda and husband Brian; 3 special great grandchildren, Adam, Logan, Leah and fiancé Justin; as well as several nieces and nephews. Betty was the last survivor of 11 brothers and sisters; and was predeceased by Harold Stone, who died March 20, 1972; and her son-in-law, Harry Hughes, who died April 23, 2004. Her family wants to give a special thanks to the personnel at Dexter Health Care for their wonderful and loving care.

A celebration of her life will be held 2 PM. Friday, March 16th, at Crosby & Neal, 21 Oak Street, Guilford, with the Rev. Beatrice Violette officiating. Friends may call from 1 PM until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dexter Health Care Patient Activity Fund, P.O. Box 113, 64 Park Street, Dexter, ME 04930. Spring burial will be in Sangerville Village Cemetery. Those who wish may sign an on-line guest register at www.CrosbyNeal.com.

SANGERVILLE – Elizabeth “Betty” J. Stone, 98, went to be with the Lord March 13, 2007. A graveside committal service will be held at 9:30 AM, Friday, May 18, 2007 at the Sangerville Village Cemetery.
