OBITUARIES

ELSIE ANNA (STAPLES) SHERWOOD
GREENVILLE- Elsie Anna (Staples) Sherwood, 56, peacefully went to be with the Lord on October 12, 2008. Elsie was born in Hartland, August 31, 1952, daughter of the late Cecil and Marilyn Staples.

Elsie was raised on a farm in Pittsfield and attended MCI High School. During her younger years, Elsie won ribbons for her crafts at local fairs, loved horses, and began her years of roller skating. During her adult life, Elsie was a housewife when she and her former spouse, David Sherwood, raised three children, Roland, Raquel, and Ronda. During this period of her life, she volunteered her time to local schools and nursing homes. Elsie enjoyed the crafts of pine needle basket weaving, painting, Christmas wreaths, embroidery, gardening, and was well known for her home style cooking.

Elsie was predeceased by her father, Cecil Staples; and her sister, Cecilia Staples Sherburne.

Elsie will be sadly missed by her mother, Marilyn Staples; her brothers, Joseph, Walter, and Paul Staples; and most deeply by her children, Roland and his wife, Pamela of Dhalonga, Georgia, Raquel Woodward and her fiancé, Vince McEwen of Dover-Foxcroft, and Ronda and her husband, Alex Nexans of Norfolk, Virginia; grandchildren, Kendra Sherwood, Charles and Krickett Libby, Danielle and Katherine Woodward, and Alexa Nexans; many nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles, George and Judy Tozier, Linda Tozier and David and Lois Tozier.
