ELSIE G. GOODRIDGE
ABBOT- Elsie G. Goodridge, 85, died August 31, 2008, after a 3 year battle with ovarian cancer. She was born in Willimantic, August 13, 1923, daughter of John and Helen (Smith) Leavitt.

Elsie worked for twenty years at Hardwood Products Company, and for the next twenty years, as a CNA, retiring at the age of 75. She enjoyed family gatherings, cooking, crocheting and reading. She especially enjoyed all the family and friends visiting her over the last few years.

She is survived by 5 children, Clarice Foss of Myrtle Beach, SC, Reginald Sandberg and his wife, Janet of Washington state, Kathy Babski and her husband, John of Sangerville, Sam Goodridge and his wife, Donna, and Cindy Fortier and her husband, Ross all of Abbot; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; 4 sisters, Mary Jane Erickson of Monson, Marylyn Gordon of MD, Pauline Myers of CT, Thelma King of Guilford; a brother, Richard Leavitt of PA.

Elsie was predeceased by her parents; her husband Samuel Goodridge Jr. in 2003; also her first husband, Ernest Sandberg; 2 brothers, Gordon Leavitt, and Robert Leavitt; and 2 sisters, Marjorie Hatch, and Beatrice Storer.

Graveside services will be held at 3 PM, Wednesday, September 3, 2008, at the Blanchard Cemetery in Abbot with Pastor Ray Beless officiating.
