OBITUARIES

ELWOOD F. "CHUBBY" FIELD
EXETER – Elwood F. Field, 72, died March 25, 2006 at a Bangor hospital. He was born May 25, 1933 at Dexter a son of Grover Cleveland and Angeline Morrow (Winchester) Field. He had been a resident of Exeter Mills for 31 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Elwood will be remembered shoeing horses at racetracks around the area, and was employed at Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna.

He is survived by his wife, Vivian (Woodard) Field of Exeter; a son Robert Field of Bucksport; 2 daughters, Sharon Batchelder of Exeter, and Helen Grass of Lincoln; a step-son, Leon Maloon of Exeter; a foster daughter, Lisa Bemis of Garland; 2 sisters, Edith Davis of Waterville and Vesta Clukey of Dexter; 13 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He will also be sadly missed by 2 dear friends, Clyde Thompson and Ricky Woodbury.
