OBITUARIES

EMILE A. DUBOIS
Veteran RIPLEY, Emile A. DuBois, Sr., 85, passed away January 15, 2008, at a Bangor hospital. He was born in Brassua, Maine, January 19, 1922, son of Arthur and Maria (Lemay) DuBois, and was brought up in Long Pond near Jackman. He served for 38 months in the U.S. Army, Company C 61st Armored Infantry Battalion. Emile was at the Battle of the Bulge and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was a communicant of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Dexter, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, VFW, and the American Legion. He was an active member of the Sno-Devils Snowmobile Club for many years. He worked 22 years for the Canadian Pacific Railroad and 27 years as a local plumbing inspector for area towns.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy (Nutter) DuBois of Ripley; 4 children and their spouses, Linda and Bernard Ronco of Willow, AK, Emile, Jr. “Andy” and Carleen DuBois of Moose River, George and Cathy DuBois of Milo and Shawna and John McCue of Ripley; 6 grandchildren, Brian Ronco of Ripley, Theresa and David Ronco-James of Anchorage, AK, Michelle and Kirk Chase of Winterport, Robert DuBois of Milo, Sherri (McCue) and Brian King of Augusta, and Shaun McCue of Ripley; 6 great grandchildren, Ally, Ian, Quenten, and Evangeline Rhys James of Anchorage, AK, and Nathan and Olivia Chase of Winterport; 2 sisters, Rita Benoit of Lewiston, and Doris and Bill Ornstein of Ocala, FL; 2 brothers, Julien of Jackman, and Henry and Nanette of Oakland; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Millie Nutter of St. Albans, Arlene Lewis of Palmyra, and Hilda Nutter of Hartland. He was predeceased by his parents, son, Richard, sister, Cecile Boucher; brothers-in-law, Philip Benoit, Clem Boucher, Walter Nutter, Daniel Preston, Clair Lewis and sister-in-law, Evelyn Preston.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM, Thursday, January 17, 2008 at Crosby & Neal, 61 Main Street, in Dexter. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2 PM, Saturday, January 19, 2008 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Dexter, with the Rev. Fr. James Robichaud officiating. Spring burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter.
