OBITUARIES

EMMA L. DEARBORN
CORINNA - Emma L. Dearborn, 83, died Sept. 25, 2009, at her home. She was born July 19, 1926, in Boothbay, the daughter of Louise E. Woodard. She was married to Robert W. Dearborn for more than 44 years, before his death in 1990. Together they raised six children while both worked full-time. Emma worked days and Robert worked nights so someone was always with the kids. She was a good mom and always made sure her children had what they needed. In those days, it meant washing and ironing school clothes almost daily. She enjoyed her role as wife and mother, and never asked for material things, travel or luxuries. She was very thankful for all of her children and very much appreciated all their help after their dad died. Because of her children, she was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. The little guys affectionately called Emma "Grammie Lucky;" her dog's name was Lucky.

She is survived by two sons, Tony Dearborn and his wife, Wanda, of Exeter, and David Dearborn and his wife, Sharon, of Newport; three daughters, Linda McLeod and her husband, Ervin, of St. Albans, Joanne Jackson and her husband, Byron, of Hermon, and Peggy Hamblett and her husband, Glenn, of Wareham, Mass.; a brother, Charles Sayward of Colfax, Calif.; and a sister, Thelma Norris of Mesa, Ariz. She was predeceased by her son, Terry; and grandson, Michael.

There will be no public services. Burial will be at Corinna Village Cemetery. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Chapel, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna. Memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association , 51 U.S. Route 1, Suite M, Scarborough, ME 04074.
