FLORA E. ERSKINE
NEWPORT – Flora E. Erskine, 86, died June 28, 2002 at a Pittsfield nursing center. She was born June 27, 1916 at Plymouth a daughter of Herbert and Evelyn (Harding) Malcolm, Sr. Flora had worked at Newport Shoe Company and Bauer Skate Company. She was a member of the Sebasticook Valley Grange and was past president of the Eagles Auxiliary.

Flora is survived by her husband Lawrence H. Erskine, Sr. of Newport and Mulberry, Florida; 2 sons, Ronald and wife Pam of Newport, Larry, Jr. and wife Janet of Vinita, Oklahoma; 2 daughters, Debra of Mulberry, Florida, Sarah and husband Robert of Hermon; 6 brothers, Ralph and wife Rosemary of Cumberland, Florian and wife Karen of Millinocket, Fred and wife Florence of Detroit, Robert of Watertown, New York, Herbert and wife Bonnie of Millinocket, and Richard of Plymouth; 3 sisters, Hattie of Watertown, NY, Phyllis and husband Val of Rochester, New York, Shirley and husband, Leon of Plymouth; 14 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Annie, a son-in-law, Gregory Cote, Sr. and special friend, Morris “Pete” Waite.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport, where funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Tuesday, July 2nd, with Pastor Al H. Worden officiating. Burial will be in the family lot, Riverside Cemetery, Newport.
