OBITUARIES

FLORA E. THOMPSON
CORINNA - Flora E. Thompson, 91, the wife of the late Dennis C. Thompson, died May 15, 2001, at a Dover Foxcroft nursing home after a long illness. She was born Dec. 12, 1909, in Presque Isle, the daughter of Winfield and Alice (Benson) Farley. She had been an employee of Snowflake Canning Co. in Corinna for 16 years and for Abbotts Mill in Dexter for five years. She was a past noble grand of Cleora Rebekah Lodge of Corinna; a member of the Happy Hour Club of Corinna, the Corinna Area Senior Citizens, the Dexter Grange No. 155 and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program of Bangor.

She is survived by a daughter, Norma Thomas of Guilford; two sons, Douglas Ricker and his wife, Cathy of Seattle, Wash. and Merle Ricker and his friend, Alice of Milo; two sisters, Winniferd St. Thomas of Mars Hill and Eleanor Greener of Presque Isle; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and many friends; a special son-in-law, Everett Dearborn of Corinna; and a special niece, Mildred Lovely of Presque Isle. Flora was predeceased by her daughter, Jeanette Dearborn, her first husband, Lloyd Ricker; six sisters, Maybelle, Katherine, Alice, Dorothy, Ella and Lulu; and two brothers, Clarence and Harold.

Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Thompson Funeral Home, 30 St. Albans Road, Corinna, where funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Diane Danielson officiating.
