FOSTER A. STACKPOLE
NEWPORT – Foster A. Stackpole, 90, died February 4, 2003 at a Pittsfield healthcare facility. He was born July 30, 1912 at Palmyra, a son of Delbert and Myrtle (Foster) Stackpole. He attended Palmyra schools. He worked the family dairy and potato farm in Palmyra for many years, before moving to Newport; residing at the family home on Spring Street until recent years. He also drove trucks for Posie Nason and the Town of Newport. Foster had lived at Birch Grove with his extended family for several years.

He is survived by a nephew Dale McAllister of Grosse Isle, Michigan; and a niece Ruth Condon of Palmyra. He was predeceased by his brother Donald; and his sister, Dorothy McAllister.

Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Friday, February 7th, at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport, with Pastor Al H. Worden officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from noon until the time of services. Spring burial will be in the family lot, Pittsfield Village Cemetery.
