FRED O. BREWER
NEWPORT & CORINNA—Fred O. Brewer, 89, died August 21, 2005 at a Dexter healthcare facility. He was born April 5, 1916 at Palmyra, a son of Allen and Lottie (Bates) Brewer. He attended the Palmyra schools. Fred served with honor in the U. S. Army in France during WWII and was a life member of the American Legion Post #105 of Newport. He was active in his local church and played the organ and piano for many services. He loved music, playing his electric organ and piano at home, and his flower gardens. Fred retired after many years of working for the State of Maine Liquor Commission. He was employed part time after retirement for Bud’s Shop & Save in Newport.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary (Tardy) Brewer of Corinna; 2 sons, Norbert Guy and wife Debra Brewer of Corinna, and Mahlon A. and wife Nancy Brewer of Newport; 6 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 1 PM Thursday, August 25th at the family lot, Riverside Cemetery, Newport, with Pastor Clarence Arno and the American Legion Honor Guard officiating.
Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Newport.
