FREDA B. RYDER
GREENVILLE JUNCTION - Freda B. Ryder, 96, loving wife of the late Charles W. (Win) Ryder, died Dec. 1, 2001, at a Greenville hospital. She was born Aug. 27, 1905, in Shirley, the daughter of Burt and Pearle (Young) Beckwith.She enjoyed traveling and had visited every state except Hawaii. She enjoyed reading, knitting and sewing and followed sports avidly. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.

She is survived by one son and his wife, Clarence "Bub" and Donna Ryder of Veazie; three daughters and their spouses, Mary and Harry Genest of Greenville Junction, Vella and Lloyd Crossman of Greenville, and Norma Hanson of Greenville, seven grandchildren and their spouses, Charles and Betty Crossman, John and Barbara Crossman, Brian and Jana Crossman, Scott and Rinda Hanson, Terry Boone, Michael and Megan Ryder and Robert and Beth Ryder, 17 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, two brothers and their spouses, Gordon and Alice Beckwith of Nevada and Maynard and Laura Beckwith of Italy; three sisters-in-law, Fern Beckwith, Isabelle Ryder and Eleanor Murray; one son-in-law, Edward "Ted" Hanson, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Charles W. "Win" Ryder; and four brothers, Glenwood, Norman, Gerald and Myrle Beckwith.

Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at McCrory Funeral Home, Greenville. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, at the Peoples United Methodist Church, Greenville Junction, with Rev. Rhenow officiating.
