OBITUARIES

GEORGE A. MELIA
GUILFORD, George A. Melia, 89, died February 10, 2005, at a Dexter health care facility. He was born April 14, 1915, in Dover-Foxcroft, son of Austin and Wilhemina (Jordan) Melia. He worked for the State Highway for 25 years, retiring in 1980. He was a 50 member of the Dawn of Hope Grange.

He is survived by 3 sons, Malcolm Melia of Monson, Jerald Melia of Guilford, and Alan and his wife, Holly Melia of Caribou; a son Roger, and grandson Marshall Maheux; a daughter, Dorothy and her husband, Walter Maheux of Westbrook; 2 sisters, Barbara Robinson of Guilford and Beverly Dow of Dover-Foxcroft; 15 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Virginia and his second wife, Marion; 4 sisters, Margaret Gray, Helen Howard, Bertha White, Flora Balch; a brother, Austin; and a great grandson, Alan W. Melia.

Friends may call Monday, February 14, 2005, at 6-8 PM, at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 21 Oak Street in Guilford. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, at the funeral home with Rev. Lloyd Rozelle officiating. Spring burial will be in the Lawn Cemetery in Guilford.

Graveside committal services for George A. Melia, 89, who died February 10, 2005, will be held 3:00 PM, Thursday, May 26, 2005 at the Lawn Cemetery in Guilford, with the Rev. Lloyd Rozelle officiating. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Guilford.
