GEORGE H. LOBDELL
George H. Lobdell RIPLEY - George H. Lobdell, 69, passed away April 24, 2010 at a Boston hospital. He was born June 14, 1940 in Athens, a son of Hester (White) Nadeau. He attended N. H. Fay High School in Dexter and served in the U. S. Army from 1966 to 1968. George worked at Dexter Shoe Company for 43 years, and graduated as a Barber from Michael's School of Hair Design and Aesthetics on April 12, 2003. He worked for the past 7 years as a custodian at Central High School in Corinth and thoroughly enjoyed his time there with staff and students. He also loved spending time on his "party boat" with friends and family. George fulfilled his lifelong dream and got his pilot's license.

He was predeceased by his wife, Gail (Castonguay) Lobdell, who died November 21, 1996. He is survived by his significant other, Nancy Jones of Ripley; his son James and wife Shelley Lobdell of Hampden; his daughter Nicci and husband Kevin Webber of Garland; son Stephen Lobdell of St. Petersburg, FL; 4 grandchildren, Abigail and Kaitlyn Webber, and Brady and Jenna Lobdell; 2 brothers, William and wife Nancy Lobdell of Augusta, Ronald and wife Jean Lobdell of Sarasota, FL; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 6-8 PM Thursday at Crosby & Neal, 61 Main Street, Dexter, where funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, April 30th, where Pastor Peter Davis officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. A memorial scholarship has been established to benefit a Central High School 2010 graduate, c/o Maine Highlands Federal Credit Union, P. O.
