GEORGENA L. BURTON
DEXTER, Georgena L. Burton, 85, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, April 5, 2007 after a brief illness at the Dexter Healthcare Facility. She was born April 6, 1921 in St. Martin, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of Freeman and Anne (MacDonald) McLean.

She moved to Dexter when she was in her teens, where she later met and married Olan E. Burton. They raised their sons and lived in Dexter the rest of their lives. She worked at several of the local woolen mills and also at Dexter Shoe Co. She was a sports woman who loved to go camping, fishing, hunting and snowmobiling. Georgena also enjoyed doing crafts, and filled her family's homes with the things she made. She had a big heart for people, inviting people to stay with her when they had a need. She attended the Pleasant St. Christian Church for a number of years. She was predeceased by her husband, Olan; and two brothers, Miles & Fred McLean.

She is survived by her three sons and their wives; Keith and Cindy of Medford, Larry and Glenna of Corinna, Gary and Margaret of Dexter; eleven grandchildren and many great grandchildren; also her faithful canine companion, Minnie.

Friends may call Monday, April 9 from 6 to 8 PM at Crosby & Neal, 61 Main Street, in Dexter. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home, Tuesday, April 10 at 1 PM with Pastor Michael Troyer officiating. A graveside committal service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 22, 2007, at the Corinna Center Cemetery.
