GERALD BYRON SHAW
EXETER Gerald Byron Shaw, 52, died February 28, 2001 at his Cider Hill Road residence after a long illness. He was born January 7, 1949 at Bangor the son of Byron and Alta (Sands) Shaw. He attended schools in Corinna and Corinth and was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He will be remembered as an avid hunter and fisherman, and also loved his dogs. He retired from the Dexter Shoe Company due to failing health.

In addition to his wife, Myrna (Merchant) Shaw, he is survived by his mother and step-father, Alta and Robert Gould, Sr. of Exeter; a son, Eric of Exeter; a step-son, Forrest Davis, Jr. of St. Albans; 2 step-daughters, Cherrie Kane of Sullivan and Joy Sherburne of Dexter; 2 brothers, Rodney Shaw of Exeter, and Roger Shaw of Raynham, Mass.; 2 sisters, Brenda Shaw of Hartland, and Arlene Gould of Stetson; a step-brother Robert Gould, Jr. of St. Albans; and 2 step-sisters, Tammy Goulette of Corinna, and Ellimay Ham of St. Albans; 10 grandchildren; 10 nieces and nephews; 2 great nephews, a great niece, 3 uncles, 3 aunts, and many close friends.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 P.M. Sunday, at Crosby & Neal Funeral Chapel, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna, where funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Monday, March 5th, with the Rev. Barry Buzzell of the Garland Community Baptist Church officiating. Spring committal services and burial will be in the family lot, Exeter Center Cemetery.
