GERALDINE "DEANIE" PALMER WILSON
DOVER-FOXCROFT - Geraldine "Deanie" Palmer Wilson, 77, passed from this life Feb. 8, 2004, after a tough battle with cancer, in the care of her daughter, Dona Pat, friend Cathy Campbell, and other friends and relatives. She was born Jan. 22, 1927, in Guilford, the daughter of Earl T. and Bernice Palmer. She attended Guilford and Dover-Foxcroft schools, and graduated from Foxcroft Academy, Class of 1946. She enlisted in the Women's Army Corps and served at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC) in Washington, D.C. She was a Korean War veteran, and also served in Germany as an Army medic and nurse and was discharged in 1954. She met her husband, Donn P. Wilson, who predeceased her Feb. 18, 1988, at WRAMC. He also was an Army soldier medic, serving in Viet Nam, and remaining in regular active service until his retirement. Deanie and Don settled in Parsonfield, after his retirement, where they raised their children, Dona Pat and Phillip.

Deanie had resided in Dover-Foxcroft for the past three years. She was a member of the Dover-Foxcroft United Methodist Church. She was an avid bowler, bingo player and sports fan. She was a Red Sox fanatic, picking up that baton from her mother! She dearly loved Sebec Lake, having swum its breadth and length on many occasions, and she maintained a cottage at Greeley's Landing.

She is survived by her daughter, Dona Pat and her husband, David Macomber, and their children, Stacy and Gretchen; her son, Phillip and his companion, Shar, of Cadillac, Mich.; two brothers, Philip Palmer and his wife, Keiko, of Riverdale, Georgia, Earl T. Palmer Jr. of Zephyrhills, Fla.; her only sister, Margaret (Palmer) Goulette of Guilford; many nieces and nephews. She will be remembered by her friends, Cathy Campbell and Jean Macomber of Dover-Foxcroft, Elayne Schick of Scranton, Pa., and Shirley Sargent of Porter.

In keeping with Deanie's request, there will be no services. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Pine Tree Hospice, 895 West Main St., Dover-Foxcroft 04426. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home
