OBITUARIES

GERTRUDE E. MCLAUGHLIN
DEXTER, Gertrude E. McLaughlin, 88, died March 30, 2006, at a Scarborough nursing home. She was born May 13, 1917, in Brooksville, daughter of Lewis and Iva (Snow) Black. She was a member of the Dexter United Methodist Church, the O.E.S., and was a 7th degree member of the Grange.

She is survived by 3 daughters, Anne Crowley of Carmel, Rose Stocker of Exeter, and Sally Campbell of Portland; a sister, Mary Snow of South Penobscot; 2 brothers, Ernest Black, and Richard Black both of Brooksville; a daughter-in-law, Fran McLaughlin of South Carolina; 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and a great great granddaughter; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur F. McLaughlin; a son Robert McLaughlin; a grandson, Allen Crowley; 3 brothers, Archie Black, William Black, and Robert Black; 2 sisters, Arlena Ladd, and Madelyn Harding.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 PM Saturday, April 1, 2006, at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main Street in Dexter. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, April 2nd, at the Dexter United Methodist Church with Pastor Lois Field officiating. Spring burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter.
