GERTRUDE MAE DUANE
NEWPORT and CORINNA - Gertrude Mae Duane, 76, widow of Leonard Duane, Sr., died March 9, 2002 at a Pittsfield hospital. She was born January 7, 1926 at Peckville, PA, the daughter of Evan and Miriam (Heller) Bebb. Gertrude was a resident of Newport for the past 2 years after moving here from Belvidere, NJ. She retired from Banton Brothers Mill in 1989. She was a communicant of St. Agnes Catholic Church and enjoyed bingo, knitting and reading.

She is survived by 4 sons, Kevin Duane of Martins Creek, PA, Robert Duane of Houlton, David Duane of Orrington and Evan Duane of Plymouth; 2 daughters, Deborah Mullis of Corinna and Margaret Tanner of Palm Bay, FL; 2 sisters, Jane Sincock of Factoryville, PA and Doris Gately of Spring Hill, FL; 24 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Leonard, Jr.

Friends may call 6-8 P.M. Tuesday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 A.M. Wednesday, March 13th at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Pittsfield, with the Rev. Fr. Raymond P. Morency officiating. Spring burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Newport.
