GILBERT L. MAC KAY
HARTLAND & HARMONY – Gilbert L. Mac Kay, 75, died August 21, 2005 at his Wellington Road residence. He was born February 5, 1930 at Swampscott, MA the son of Lewis and Theo ( Glidden) Mac Kay. He graduated from Lynn High School and served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict where he was wounded. He retired as a sheet metal mechanic from the C. P. Blouin Manufacturing Company of Burlington, Mass, a member of Local #17. Gilbert moved to Maine in 1974 where he built his own log cabin in the woods in Hartland and used his skills in gardening, stonework and carpentry to create a piece of heaven for his family.
He is survived by his wife Edith of Harmony; a son David S. MacKay of S. Paris; 2 daughters, Cindy and husband Charlie Bussell and Lisa MacKay all of Harmony; a sister, Suzanne Caruso of Guilford, NH; 4 grandchildren, Michael, Eric, Michelle, and Andrew Paradis; a great grandson, Ryan Paradis.
Friends may call from 6-8 PM Tuesday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport, where funeral services will be held 1 PM Wednesday, August 24th, with the Rev. Llewellen Sperrey officiating. Burial will be in the Bean’s Corner Cemetery, Hartland. Memorial donations may be made to Deeper Life Assembly, P.O. Box 331, Pittsfield, ME 04967.
