GLADYS (HARTLEY) FROST
CORINNA – Gladys H. Frost, 83, died July 20, 2006 at a Dexter health care facility. She was born October 15, 1922 at Corinna a daughter of Howard and Bessie (Haynes) Hartley. She was a graduate of Corinna Union Academy. Gladys married Carl Frost on February 5, 1944 while Carl was serving in the U. S. Army during World War II. She worked as a finish inspector at Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna for 27 years. Gladys and Carl attended the Pleasant Street Christian Church and the Corinna United Methodist Church, both of Corinna. She thoroughly enjoyed retirement and looked forward to yard sales, auctions, doll shows, and her daily trips with Carl to McDonalds. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of nearly 60 years on November 22, 2004; and a sister, Hazel (Hartley) Clarke.
Gladys is survived by 3 brothers and their wives, Perley and Marie Hartley, Darrell and Judy Hartley, Earl and Shirley Hartley, all of Corinna; and a sister and her husband, Dot and Harry Nason of Newport; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
At her request, there will be no visiting hours. A graveside funeral service and committal prayers will be held 2 PM Monday, July 24th at Morse’s Corner Cemetery, Corinna, with the Rev. Edward Jaworski officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Dexter Healthcare Patient Activity Fund; 64 Park Street, Dexter, ME 04930. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Chapel, Corinna.
