Glenna I. Proctor
NEWPORT—Glenna I. Proctor, 75, died February 3, 2013, at a Bangor hospital. She was born March 12, 1937 in Pittsfield, a daughter of Alton and Phyllis (Reynolds) Ames. She graduated from Maine Central Institute, Class of 1955 and graduated with an associate’s degree from business college in Skowhegan.

She had been employed at Edward’s Company in Pittsfield. Glenna helped her husband on their dairy farm, raised 6 children, helped raise 5 grandchildren and was a mother to anyone that wanted to be mothered. She was a member of the Maine Country Music Association and currently was secretary of the North Newport Christian Association (North Newport Christian Church).

Glenna is survived by a son, Allen Proctor and wife Sandy Hughes of Corinna; 4 daughters and their husbands, Vicki and Charlie Moulton of Newport, Cindy and Howard Nyman of Dexter, Carla and Shane Cookson and Kelly and Scott Lennon, all of Corinna; a brother, Lauris and wife Mary Jane Ames of Hudson, NH; a sister, Avis Paresson of Pittsfield; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Nathalie Jackson of Newport; and a friend, Howard Gray. She was predeceased by her husband, Orville; and a son Randy.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Friday, February 8th, at Crosby and Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport with the Rev. Terry McKinley officiating. Friends may call from 10 A.M. until the time of services. Spring burial will be in the Corinna Village Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of ones choice.
