GOLDIE I. PHILLIPS
Goldie Phillips SHIRLEY- Goldie I. Phillips, 90, died August 13, 2008, at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. She was born October 7, 1917, in Hermon, daughter of Joseph and Minola (Libby) McInnis. Goldie grew up at Ripogenus Dam, and graduated from Maine Central Institute in Pittsfield in 1935. She attended New England Deaconess Hospital in Boston for 4 years becoming a registered nurse. She lived in Shirley for 60 years, nursing and raising children.

She is survived by a sister, Margaret McInnis of Bangor; six children, Ralph and Kay Johnson of Greenville, Frank Phillips III of OH, Margaret "Peggy" Phillips of Shirley, Joseph Phillips of Greenville, Scott & Sharon Phillips of Dover-Foxcroft, Fred Phillips, and his wife, Marjorie DeSanctis of Scarborough; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Fred McInnis; first husband, Ralph S. Johnson; daughter-in-law, Lisa Phillips; granddaughter, Leanna Sandlin.

Friends may call 6 to 8 PM Sunday, August 17, 2008, at the Shirley Community Church. Funeral services will be held 10 AM, Monday, at the church with the Rev. Dr. Everett Parker officiating. Burial will be in the Shirley Village Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations to C. A. Dean Memorial Hospital, P.O.
