GORDON E. HUFF
NEWPORT – GORDON E. HUFF, 86, died January 3, 2001 at a Waterville hospital. He was born April 14,1914 at Everett, Mass. The son of Omar and Vera (Foss) Huff. He attended Somerset Academy in Athens and worked for H.P. Hood Inc. for 27 years, during which time he served as field representative from 1960 to 1979. While managing the Island Falls H.P. Hood plant (1960 – 1964) he was active in community affairs and was a past President of the Island Falls Lions Club. Mr. Huff was married to the former Hazel Ellis, who died in 1947. On June 18, 1954 he married the former Marguerite Robbins. She predeceased him May 15, 1997. Gordon and Marguerite were members of the People’s United Methodist Church in Newport.

He is survived by 2 sons, Frederick of Palmetto, FL and Augusta, Clifton of Perryhall, Maryland;2 daughters Patricia Dumouchel of Fairfield Center, and Barbara Hart of South Portland; one sister, Charlotte Heiker of Naples, FL; 15 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; one nephew, and several cousins.

Friends may call 6-8 P.M. Friday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport, where funeral services will be held 11 A. M. Saturday, January 6th, with the Rev.
