OBITUARIES

HAROLD M. "DOC" BLANCHARD
GREENVILLE, Harold M. “Doc” Blanchard, 78, died August 20, 2005, at the C.A. Dean Hospital in Greenville. He was born July 6, 1927, in Worcester, Mass., son of Harold and Irene (St. Onge) Blanchard. He was active in scouting in his early years and was an Eagle Scout. He served in the US Army during WWII and was a member of the American Legion in Greenville.

He worked for 38 years as a Wildlife Biologist for the Dept. of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a registered Maine Guide. He was a master craftsman and enjoyed building canoes.

Doc BlanchardHe is survived by his wife, Mercedes (McIver) Blanchard of Greenville/Harford's Point; 3 sons, Keith and his wife, Diane Blanchard, and David and his wife, Lisa Blanchard, all of Raymond, and Harold Blanchard of Greenville; 3 daughters, Dr. Sharon Blanchard-Kimball of Pittsfield, Patricia and her husband, Elden Glidden of S. China, Kimberly and her husband, Gunnar Bengtson of Millbury, MA; 3 stepchildren, Stephen and his wife, Glenna Irvine of Portland, Julie and her husband, Larry Lavigne of Greenville, Sheila and her husband, Jonathan Harvell of New Sharon; a brother, Robert and his wife Irene Blanchard of Texas; a sister, Ruth and her husband, Bernard DeRoy of Mass.; many nieces and nephews; 2 sisters-in-law, Sheila McIver of Greenville, and Julia Luce of Machias. He was lovingly known as "Pa" by his many grandchildren.

Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Monday, August 22nd at the American Legion Post in Greenville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Tuesday, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Greenville, by the Rev. Fr. William Modlin. Burial will be in the Greenville Cemetery.
