HELEN M. FLETCHER
Helen Fletcher PALMYRA – Helen M. Fletcher, 94, died November 14, 2007 at her Lang Hill Road residence. She was born August 28, 1913 at Canaan a daughter of Guy and Gertrude (Davis) Nason. Helen and her husband Ivan operated the family dairy farm for many years until his death on January 3, 1978. She was a member of the Meridian Splendor #42 Order of The Eastern Star and the Palmyra Grange. Helen attended the High Street Congregational Church in Newport.

She is survived by 4 sons, Ivan, Jr. of Mars Hill, George of Palmyra, Harold “Cuffy” of Newport, and Robert of Hartland; 3 daughters, Barbara Smith of Kansas City, Missouri, Shirley Bryson and Janet Philbrick, both of Palmyra; 19 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Ivan, Helen was also predeceased by a brother Morrill Nason and 2 sisters, Mary Bangs and Edith Fowler.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 PM Friday at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport, where an Eastern Star service will be held at 6 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home 11 AM Saturday, November 17th, with Pastor Al H. Worden officiating. Donations in her memory may be made to the Order of The Eastern Star ESTARL fund, benefiting students entering the ministry, in care of Mrs. Barbara Marshall, 270 Newport Road, Corinna, ME 04928. Donations may also be left at the funeral home. Burial will be in Palmyra Village Cemetery. Those who wish may sign an on-line guest register at www.CrosbyNeal.com.
