HENRY V. RACE
BERWICK & ABBOT—Henry Virgil Race, 74, died March 14, 2006 at a Rochester, NH hospital. He was born January 30, 1932 at Abbot, a son of H. Victor and Pearl (Boutilier) Race. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. Henry retired as a machinist in 1994, and enjoyed playing the guitar. His sister remembers him as a “Heck of a brother!”

He is survived by a son, Scott Race of Berwick; a sister, Janet and husband Vergil Leighton of Guilford; an uncle, Howard Boutilier of Peabody, MA; a sister-in-law, Cecile Peachy of Dexter; several cousins, nephews and a niece. He was predeceased by his wife, Elaine (Mooreside) Race, his older brother David, and his brother in law, Elton Billington.

Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Saturday, March 18th at Crosby & Neal, 21 Oak Street, Guilford, where funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Sunday with Pastor Dan Bollen officiating. Spring burial will be in the Abbot Village Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 51 U. S. Route 1, Suite M, Scarborough, ME 04074. Envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.

Graveside committal services for Henry Virgil Race, 74, who died March 14, 2006, will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 25 at the Abbot Village Cemetery with Pastor Dan Bollen officiating. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal, Guilford.
