JAMES B. "JIMMY" BURGESS
DEXTER, James B. “Jimmy” Burgess, 70, lost his brave battle with cancer, peacefully at his home in Dexter on February 22, 2005. He was born December 22, 1934 in Dover-Foxcroft, son of William and Leona (Johnston) Burgess. He served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict and worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator for International Paper.

He is survived by his beloved wife Mary Kay Burgess of Dexter; 2 sons, Mike and his wife Julie Burgess of Wells, and Scott Burgess of California; 7 precious grandchildren; 2 brothers, William Burgess of Arizona, and Malcolm and his wife Beverly Burgess of Connecticut; thoughtful cousins and many loving relatives. Jimmy is also survived by scores of friends of all ages and was known for his colorful stories, his "words of wisdom", and his eagerness to lend a hand. He liked to leave you with a chuckle and a story worth repeating, and especially loved the stories you might not dare repeat.

Friends may call at 1:00 pm, on Monday, February 28, 2005, with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 pm at the Crosby and Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main St. in Dexter. Spring burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter.
