JAMES "BUD" MacDONALD
NEWPORT—James L. MacDonald, 66, died unexpectedly November 8, 2006 at his Camp Benson Road residence. He was born December 7, 1939 at Murray Road, Prince Edward Island, Canada, a son of John and Mildred (Worden) MacDonald. He attended catholic schools in Canada and graduated from St. Dunston’s Catholic College in Charlottetown, PEI. He was employed at Walpole Woodworkers in Detroit. Bud was a member of the National Rifle Association.

He is survived by 2 sons, James “Mike” and wife Lonna MacDonald of Plymouth, Steven MacDonald and companion Dawn Cookson of Newport; a daughter, Teresa Deering and husband Alan of Hartland; a brother, Reginald and wife Patsy MacDonald of Charlottetown, PEI; 2 sisters, Rose and husband Donald Carney of Long Island, NY, Joan and husband Ed Bulger of Corinna; 7 grandchildren, Meagan and Mindy Deering, John, Josh, and Rhonda MacDonald, Josh and Virginia Cookson; 2 great grandchildren, Karmyn Vanadestine and Nathan MacDonald; many nieces and nephews; as well as longtime companion, Annette Batchelder of Newport. He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara; brother, Allen MacDonald; and a sister, Julia MacLean. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Sunday, November 12th at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 A.M. Monday at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Dexter, with the Rev.
