JAMES WILSON HOWELL
SANGERVILLE - James Wilson Howell, 89, died peacefully March 21, 2008, at a Bangor hospital. His wife of 68 years, family and good friend, John
Goggin, were at his side. He was born Oct. 29, 1918, in Sangerville, a son of James and Jennie (Skillings) Howell. He graduated from Sangerville High School and was an honorary member of South Sangerville Grange. Wilson owned and operated the Howell farm for 64 years, operating a dairy, potato and vegetable farm. James was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing with his friends, including Cory and Mike Littlefield, and John and Jason Goggin. He is survived by his wife, Selma (Bonsey) Howell; daugh-ters, Brenda Maguire and husband, James, of Gardiner and Susan Easterbrooks and husband, John, of Yakima, Wash.; a son, James Wilson Howell of Redwood City, Calif.; grandchildren, Julie Vainio of Portland, Tami Perry of Biddeford, Jennifer Vainio of Saco, Steven Vainio and wife, Shirleen, of Monson, James and Shannan Howell, both of Redwood City, Calif., Lindsay Brown and husband, Kevin, of Oregon, Shannon Sampson and husband, Andrew, of Bellingham, Wash.; great-grandchildren, Chastity and Hannah Vainio, Rebecca Caron and Emmet Sampson. He was predeceased by a brother, Lawrence; and a sister, Marjery Pratt. A graveside funeral and committal service will be held in the spring at Sangerville Village Cemetery.
