REVEREND JANET E. McAULEY Her second career as a Pastor began with her ordination as Deacon by Bishop Jones in 1983; and her ordination into the priesthood by Bishop Frederick Wolf in 1984. After ordination, Janet began her 20 year ministry at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church until the time of her death. As an active part of the Episcopal Diocese of Maine, Janet served as Trustee, Camp Bishopswood, 1979-1997; Trustee, Coalition for Missions, 1984-1992; President of the Board, Bishopswood, 1988-1992; Diocesan Finance Committee member, 1984-1987; member, Committee on Holy Orders, 1996-2003; Adjunct Professor, Bangor Theological Seminary, 1988-2004; Pastor, St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, 1984-2005; and Priest-in-Charge, Episcopal Church of the Messiah, Dexter, 1997-2002. Despite her exceptional achievements in life, Janet will be remembered for her down to earth manner, and her willingness to be a pastor to the community at large. She is survived by a cousin and her family, Joan Bettes of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; and by her St. Martin’s Parish church family. A Eucharistic Mass in celebration of her life will be held 11 A.M. Saturday, January 22nd, at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, U.S. Route 2, Palmyra, with the Right Reverend Chilton R. Knudsen, Bishop, Episcopal Diocese of Maine, officiating. Interment will be in the family lot in Manitoba. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, P. O. Box 107, Palmyra, ME 04965.
