JEANETTE A. ARTES
BROWNVILLE - Jeanette A. Artes, 83, wife of the late Tyler M. Artes, died Jan. 24, 2002, at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. She was born in Brownville, Oct. 8, 1918, the daughter of John and Florence (Getchell) MacKenzie. She was a member of the Brownville Community Church, where she served as Sunday school teacher and superintendent for many years, and the church circle. Jeanette was predeceased by a brother, Edward MacKenzie.

She is survived by one son, Bryan Artes and wife, Lorna of Howland; three daughters, Christine Dow and husband, Richard of Cape Elizabeth, Gayle McKinney and husband, Wendall of Easton, Jeannine Cote and husband, Paul of Lewiston; six grandchildren, Derek Artes, Brody Artes, Sarah Dow, Amy Cote, Darren Cote, Renovia McKinney, several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call 2-3 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, at Lary Funeral Home, Milo. A celebration of her life will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at the Brownville Community Church, with the Rev. George Ganglefinger officiating.
